New Heart is an outpatient cardiac rehabilitation facility, providing treatment to those who have recently been in the hospital for heart problems or heart surgery. Patients come to New Heart for twelve weeks of monitored exercise so that they can regain their strength after a cardiac event. Cardiac rehabilitation is always done while one of our doctors is in the building, and patients are closely monitored during the entire course of rehab. Patients and their family members meet throughout the twelve weeks with our staff and doctors so that we can chart the patient's progress and gradually increase the intensity of exercise as the patient's strength returns. Patients and their families also meet with our registered dietician, and have an opportunity to participate in stress-reduction classes, support groups, and other wellness activities. Family members are encouraged to participate in all the patient's appointments, and are also encouraged to exercise in our support program.
